Last week I met the neatest family that came from Minnesota to enjoy the California sunshine. We met at Windandsea Beach in La Jolla, where their boys would be experiencing the ocean for the first time! It was really fun to capture their reactions – the youngest was the first “in” the water, by default ;). He did that a couple of times and was then a little uncertain to explore further. The oldest was slow to start but then we almost couldn’t get him out! He was “surfing” and having a blast. By the end of the session, both boys (and probably mom and dad) had sand between their toes, hair and nose and saltwater drenched their clothes. It was a fun time had by all. These beach sessions are some of my favorites. Relaxed and fun, they always create loads of beautiful pictures. Thank you to the Crandall Family for taking time out of your vacation to let me capture some memories!
I’m so excited to finally write this post! As many of you know, I have wanted to revamp and refresh my website for quite some time! Well, the time has finally come and I am ready to share it with all of you! Besides the new site, Beyond Words has a few more changes in the works. I’ve recently started offering packages for each photo session and with each package now comes prints and digital images! I have also partnered up with Pinhole Press (which you can view here), they offer the greatest photographic products. I love these products and often order them for myself and family! A separate blog post will be coming soon on Pinhole Press!
It’s only fitting to start off my new site with some pretty pictures. These pictures are from a session I had last week with a family that has been with me from the beginning! When I first met them they just had their second son. Since then I’ve met many of their wonderful family members and I truly thank them for trusting me to capture their memories! I also love the fact that they also have 3 sons! One always likes to have someone to relate to :). The pictures below are of their latest addition. In a couple of weeks we’re going to let his brothers join in on the fun! So stay tuned…
Lastly, if you haven’t already “liked” Beyond Words Facebook fan page, please head on over there and do so! It’s my goal to start sharing not only beautiful pictures, but also helpful photography tips, my favorite products, and the occasional giveaway! Free canvas anyone? Hurry and head over there :).

I know, I know….it’s been a long time since my last blog! But, a lot has been going on over here :). Babies have been born, family pictures have been taken and what do you know…you look up and they’re already 3 months old! So here’s a little look back at the last 3 months of a family I adore and have the honor of photographing this next year.

Getting into the groove of things…..beautifully, if I do say so myself! These two were meant to be parents!
Until, the next milestone!

Today is my oldest son’s 7th Birthday! Honestly, I have no idea where the time went. If I do say so myself :), he is such an incredible boy… full of adventures, master plans, capers, and overall fun! These pictures are from our recent trip to Hawaii, Hudson’s favorite place on Earth (well, it might be a tie with Steamboat, CO). He was up each morning at the crack of dawn either with his snorkeling gear on and spear ready for spearfishing, out back searching for geckos and frogs, begging his dad to wake up to take him scuba diving, or getting his fishing pole all geared up for the days catches. We are so proud of this little guy and all that he has accomplished in his seven years! Happy Birthday Turkey!
I love you beyond words!!!

Wonderful, Kelli…to capture Hudson in his element is amazing! Happy birthday to my awesome nephew ~ half turkey, half dude!
What a GREAT photo collage of the cutest beach bumpkin that I ever saw. I wish I could just reach through these photo’s and just hug and give him tons of kisses! Oh wait, I get to do that… poor Hudson, his worst nightmare. Oh well, he’s just so darn cute! Happy Birthday Hudson. XoxO
Last week I had the opportunity to take J&J’s pictures. They were in town visiting from Texas and had a chance to sneak away for a little photo session! I’m so glad they did because these are some of my favorite pictures to date! To see the slide show click here! Stay tuned because another beautiful family from Texas is up next!!
